Inspirational YouTubers that helps me start out my self-improvement journey
If we are in search to improve ourselves and grow, I believe it all has started somewhere or from someone. Whether it is in your sleep, or seeing an actual happening in your life, through a book you've read. For me personally, it is YouTube.
YouTube has contributed a lot in my self growth journey, to where I am today and where I was 5 years ago and when I was a student. The way I use YouTube is not purely for entertainment, but at most time, educational. YouTube as an education platform is vastly underrated compared to Google, and if anything, it is way more direct and effective.
This post is to share the YouTubers who had inspired me (mind you, it is not influenced, but more so INSPIRED me) to reflect about myself, and encouraged me to actually TRY what I want to do.
Here goes my TOP FAVOURITE YOUTUBERS:
1. Nathaniel Drew
Nathaniel first started out as a productivity and self-help YouTuber, and now he documents a lot more of random topics around him. With a very similar video style from Matt D Avella back in the days, I definitely love Nathaniel's video style and delivery than Matt's. He includes a lot more of his thoughts, feelings and experience in his videos and I always appreciate how human and genuine all his videos are. In the journey of improvement, there are also elements of how we are all just humans and we don't have to be the most perfect person in the world.
I also particularly love how his videos are philosophical and revolves about the human mind. It makes me ponder and at times it is the medicine to my soul. Nathaniel articulated it so well with his voice and visuals. It is flat out masterpiece.
2. Struthless (Campbell Walker)
This Austrilian YouTuber has a transformative approach to journaling and have journaling as a transformative journey to himself. Struthless is a channel that talks about finding mental clarity through journaling. Campbell is an artist who had successfully embarked on the journey of sobriety and still embracing it now as a proud dad! While his videos are now revolving to new styles of documentary, I genuinely likes the storytelling and casual conversation style of delivery.
Struthless has also became one of my favorite channels because of how he incorporate his arts to the journaling tips. He is creatively talented, fo' sho. A greatest inspiration takeaway from his videos are also how he opens up about his history (the journey to sobriety) and to where he is today.
I bought his book, YOUR HEAD IS A HOUSEBOAT. That is a book thta explains mental clarity in the most light way with characters and personas. I love every single page of it. I gave my friend the book hopefully to pass the deed forward, words of Camp.
3. Matt D Avella
Matt D Avella has been a really seasoned and matured Youtuber in the space. He shares productivity and pragmatic tips when I first started out watching a lot more YouTube and kept me hook to see more prospects of being on YouTube. His video has successfully pulled up algorithms and video suggestions I LOVE to see. All thanks for Matt and him sharing his personal experiences, he has never pushed the idea that one idea fits all to everyone and in return encouraged his listeners to try out their own way.
4. Rose Han
Previously goes by Investing with Rose, now she has make her channel a personal brand and not limited to financial related topics. Ever since she achieve financial freedom and living out a van life and decided to change her channel direction. I'm still a big fan regardless.
What got me inspired with Rose's channel is her channel really do start out to teach me about the basics of financials and also sharing her ACTUAL experience to achieve financial freedom. I love financial channels that throws their experiences and their blueprint as a sharing so audience could gauge circumstances each to their own, because not everything is financial advice.
Additionally, She definitely is an inspiration as a female YouTubers who talks about finances and we need more advocates like this! Girls can be very well to manage their numbers too and needs to level up in the financial jargon game.
5. Ashlynne Eaton
She is one of the first, if not, second YouTuber that has got me dwelling in the YouTube space. Ashlynne's videos has constantly remind me to be mindful of the items I invite to my life and I've also learnt how to make do with minimal from a bunch of her tips and tricks. Ashlynne shares about decluttering, living minimally and also to define minimalism the way it suits our lifestyle. She does not preach to throw out everything at your house, but in fact, to be mindful of the items we kept at home which can serve us purposefully, and invite happiness to our life.
In various videos she has repeatedly uses her outfit and accessories which shows she walk her talk. I love her smile, truly gives the vibes of how minimalism did brings the benefit to her. That has truly inspired me from the minimalist point of view.
NOT FORGETTING HEALTH & FITNESS!
Besides enriching the mindset, of course we cannot forget about physical health and fitness! Here's a section to give props to my inspirational fitness YouTubers.
6. Caroline Girvan
I highly recommend Caroline Girvan for weights workout or general workout. Her workout stands out with her unique moves stands out from the rest of the fitness Youtubers. Also, check out her physique, it is one in a million. I would not be afraid to grow her kind of muscles because those would take so much dedication and hard work throughout the years to achieve that. Nothing to worry about if you are not working out 24/7 as your career!
This is how her videos stood out than other fitness YouTubers:
- Good workout structure (in sets or no repeats)
- Rest time throughout the video (knowing when to take breaks for maximizing effects)
- No yelling and shouting. (I simply love it.)
- Giving heads-up of common mistakes in movements at early of video, as well as reminders during the video (what's worst than doing all your moves wrong and training the wrong muscles)
- Letting you know which minute to skip to, to start work out right away! (non of that watch time delaying)
She also has various 30 days challenge which you can choose from. From Beginner, EPIC, EPIC II, EPIC III, Iron Series, HIIT and many more! Do checkout her playlist to pick out the programme you want to embark on
7. Yoga with Kassandra
Yoga is definitely an acquired work out and I have not started doing Yoga just until 4 years ago. For yoga practices, I like to follow Yoga for Kassandra for my practices.
She has a yoga video for. EVERYONE. Literally. No matter what age or what kind of person you are. She has a video just for you if you look it up. Whenever you have targeted yoga wishes, she has something for it. As an office worker myself, I would usually do back and shoulders relief after long hours of sitting at work. On weekends or my work out rest days, I love myself some morning yoga to boost my energy levels, stretch and improve my flexibility.
Her cues are very easy to follow over time. It is straight forward and not too fast. Another great thing would be her indicating if the yoga lesson would be BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE or EXPERT so that we know what we are getting ourselves into.
Here I plug a video I did this morning, super refreshing!
Conclusion
Highly recommend to check them out. However, I strongly encourage you to explore and discover your very own favorite inspiration YouTubers. They can be a one-way mentor to you and gives you motivation/inspiration to learn about areas you are interested in. YouTubers has changed my life in a positive way and will be my lifetime mentors.
